<![endif]-->As we were getting ready to pray and depart for our short term missions trip to Mexico this past Sunday, Johnny Villa asked the seven of us to be mindful of God’s Word and meditate on a verse of scripture throughout the day. Immediately, I blurted out Nehemiah 6:3…”I am doing a great work and I cannot come down…” (NKJV). I believe the reason I did so was because the last time I did anything similar to what we would be doing that day, I was on top of a ladder in Wichita Falls, Texas, painting an elderly lady’s house with a bunch of guys from our church’s men’s group. You guessed it…I was singing this verse all day long, driving everybody crazy! Naturally, I found myself doing the same thing, this time in Mexico and Johnny and I couldn’t get the verse off our minds.

Nevertheless, one of my favorite stories in the Old Testament is the true account of how Nehemiah rebuilt the wall in Jerusalem in just 52 days. There is so much to be gleaned by a thorough study of his book and what God was able to do in and through Nehemiah. However, what I will never forget is Nehemiah’s response to all the chaos, distractions, and naysayers around him, and perhaps some doubt and confusion in him as well, in that verse. Likewise, there were tons of details that could easily have distracted Johnny and Ray this past Sunday, but like the great leader and man of God, Nehemiah, they were single-minded and focused on getting the schoolhouse painted and getting us safely on our way home. As you can tell from the pictures, our mission was accomplished and a job done well by all.

That was my 5th missions trip to Mexico with Pouring Out Hope Ministries and Lamb’s Fellowship and you would think that it would start getting old by now. After all, the novelty of going down t<img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; We were ‘doing a great work…’ and getting busy about Kingdom business and that verse that stuck in our heads conveniently reminded us so! But that wasn’t all that made this trip special. We had the wonderful opportunity to re-visit the family that my wife, Janice, discovered last year that really needed a helping hand, to put it mildly. In fact, the kids had grown so much that we hardly recognized them and they were actually smiling and having fun, like they were enjoying being children again. Oh, how I pray that Almighty God will make a way to allow us to build them a house as well. It was so difficult to leave them and it turns out that they did not want us to leave them, so I went and wrestled with little Antonio (cool name!) on his brand new mattress one last time. Then, I pulled myself away and loaded up in Linda’s truck for the long ride home.

Needless to say, I can’t wait for the next Mexico Missions Trip and the privilege of “doing a great work, so that we cannot come down” and to do so alongside my amazing brothers and sisters in The Lord Jesus: ‘Jumpin’ Johnny Villa, Ray ‘Let’s stay and pray’ Orozco, Bobby ‘Cheeps, Coke, Pepsi’ Morales, ‘Sergeant’ Angela Williams, Linda ‘I never forget the toilet paper’ Hayes, and Eric ‘I wear my sunglasses while I paint’ Uber!
By Jim Thomas

What happens when God gives a few people a vision? If it is of Him, it will come to fruition. Well, the school house in Baja was a vision born when it was realized that children watching children were unable to go to school for their education. The result, there is no opportunity to change the culture of a people.

Not only was a building idea born for a school which provided child care along with teaching, but the building can be used for church services, Bible study, vocational training in sewing. It can and will become a beacon to the community to bring people to God through the expression of love by the body of Christ in Southwest Riverside County.

The plan for the actual construction was for 12-15 experienced builders to go down and “stick-build” the school from scratch. Materials would be dropped on Thursday and work would begin early Friday morning and culminate, according to predictions, shortly after noon on Saturday. Men may plan, but God moves as He deems.

When we came closer to our departure time, our numbers dwindled. Work conflicts, delayed passports, and/or wrong dates resulted in the numbers dropping significantly. We ended with 2 active contractors, 3 semi-experienced in construction, and 5 additional helpers making up the construction team from Murrieta Lamb’s. Pouring Out Hope brought an additional 10 helpers with them. What do you do with this group that was short on experience, but gifted in heart and desire? You build a school.

When the advance team arrived Thursday night, June 25, materials had not been delivered. What could we do? What happened? A crew went to the lumber yard to find our materials bundled, but no driver. We’d have to wait until 9:30 Friday morning for materials to be delivered. Once there, it all had to be unloaded by hand. The first pieces of lumber we needed were on the bottom of the stack. We all formed lines and had the truck unloaded in 30 minutes.

By the end of the first day, the floor, walls, and roof had been erected. Saturday saw the team put up the roofing, siding, doors, windows, and paint the school. This was all done by 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

We did run short of materials and a group will go down again on July 11 to hang drywall, paint trim, complete front and side landings, and build a cover over the front porch.

This experience with reduced numbers was likened to Gideon. He was told to field an army to defeat the Midianites. He started with 32,000 men and ended with 300 men. This small army defeated their enemies – with the power of God behind them. (Judges 6 and 7)

Well, our small army of workers came against initial discouragement and witnessed God’s hand working. What a joy it has been influencing a community in dire need, physically and spiritually. Having God use this ministry locally and in Mexico has been a true blessing. However, we know that our trips have been bathed in prayer for safety and this could not have been possible without the charitable giving from His children.

May God be Praised.

Jim Thomas
The Lamb’s Fellowship, Murrieta

See more pictures

What’s Pleasing to God... By Ray Orozco

Well a very important man in my life taught me something by reminding me it's all about the heart. In Hebrews 11:6 it says "and without faith it is impossible to please GOD, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him". It's about the how and why we do things, not the fact that we do things. We can be busy "about the Father's work" and still not be pleasing to him. As is said in Matthew 7:22,23 "many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord did we not prophesy in your name, and your name drive out demons and perform many miracles? 'then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you, away from me, you evil-doers!"

<?xml:namespace prefix = o />

We must walk in faith with a surrendered heart, a heart open to the leading of the spirit. As said we must believe that he exists, having believed this we must also believe that his work must be done in his time and in a manner glorifying to him, no matter what the circumstances. As you all know by now <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />Pouring Out Hope Ministries is building a school house / multipurpose facility in Manadero, Mexico. John and I believe that it is God's purpose to minister to the least of these, so we embarked on a project to do this very thing. The Lord gathered support around us, we made plans and set date and hired two teachers. This all sounds like God size work right, but his word says something else:

Romans 13:1-7

“1Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. 4For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. 6This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing. 7Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.”

The only thing that had not been done was to submit ourselves to the governing authorities. So God's work must be done his way not ours. We can't go ahead and do, then get caught and have to ask forgiveness for that would reflect poorly on God. All this to say that may 18th John, Eric, and I went to see the "Delgado Municipal" municipal delegate to gain his permission and blessing knowing full well that he could say no. However if we go forth in faith, with a surrendered heart believing that God has sent us then God is pleased. The good news is that God went before us and cleared the path. We have the authority and blessing to move forward without fear and more than that if anyone does question our undertaking we were directed to tell them to see the "Delgado Municipal" and he or his assistant would tell that with his authority that we build. Praise God he clears our path, he is our rear guard, he is our mighty fortress. Praise God!!!! Praise God!!!!!!

Learn about the Peppertree Homework House - Summer to Remember 2009

Stay up to date on our Mexico School Project

I stand before God today because my Mom knelt before Him then.....

It still feels like yesterday the voice of my Mom, the look of promise and surety in her eyes.

I was a young man in my mid 20’s lost, addicted, hopeless. It was 8:50 am I was in the back room of my Parents house in Lawndale playing my guitar. I had a joint rolled ready to smoke. I knew that at 9:00am everyone in the house would be gone then I would step outside to smoke. At 9:01 I went room by room to double check and see if anybody was still home.

When I came to my Moms room I opened the door and there she was on her knees praying. Now, you have to know something about my Mom, as far back as I can remember her knees were the size of large cantaloupe and painfully soar with arthritis.

As I entered the room I quickly walked up to my Moms side grabbed hold of her arm to help her up and said Mom! Mom! What are you doing? Get up you’re hurting your knees. She sternly shook me off and looked straight into my eyes and said “son I am praying for you, one day you are going to play that guitar for Jesus!

A few years later she was right. I play for Jesus. O’the joy and tears on my Moms face the first time we Worshiped Jesus together in her living room. What a celebration!

The power of prayer! The joy of the Answer!
The Faith Of A Life Well Lived With Him On Swollen Knees.
Thanks Mom!! Thanks For All Eternity.
Thank You Jesus For A Mother Of Great Prayer And Faith In You.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL YOU FAITHFULL MOMS,

JOHN VILLA

Another Gloomy Easter Weekend

Another Gloomy Easter Weekend, doesn’t it always seem like The Saturday before Easter Sunday is a dark and dreary day? When Sunday morning comes however, the sun is bright the clouds are white and everything seems a bit brighter. This past Easter was no different.

When John and I met at Peppertree as we began setting up for the outreach we made sure to have the easy-ups set up first just in case we got rain. All the kids helped set up chairs and tables, the worship began and we were ready to party! The Youth from my church (Generations Community Church) presented a very powerful play to the kids. I was standing behind them facing the crowd as they performed. It would have been great to be out in the audience but “someone” had to hold the three way electrical outlet together to keep power running to the sound system. I guess John figured if someone was going to get electrocuted it may as well be the guy with no hair and besides every time I see that play I cry like a little girl. Anyway, to see the faces of everyone it was obvious that it had an impact. The Kids stopped fidgeting, the teens stopped talking and everyone else just watched as gods love for us was illustrated right in front of their eyes. The play is about how someone can get caught up in the temptations of money, alcohol, beauty and lust reaching such dark hopeless places that taking ones own life seems the only way out. Just as we see no hope, just as we give up, Jesus breaks through the darkness restoring what was lost and healing our wounds.

John and I gave a message about the cross and resurrection by placing items representing things like the purple robe of Christ or the crown of thorns into 10 eggs which were later hidden in the Easter egg hunt. The kids who found those ten eggs had to recite what the item inside represented to receive a prize. I don’t think either of us can claim the creativity to have come up with that idea but it was a great one and thanks to whomever it was.

We enjoyed great worship music, games, food and gifts but for me the best part of the whole day was after the play and the message. John asked everyone to bow their heads and close their eyes and if anyone wanted to receive Christ to raise their hand. One child raised his hand. That one child is why we had the food, the games the worship the weeks of preparation and all the hard work everyone put in to pull it all together. I feel like hope has been resurrected in that campground. Hope for all who saw the play to know that there is a Jesus who loves them so much and that there is nothing that can separate them from his love. Just the fact that the ministry serves there every week gives hope to the parents and children for a brighter future. I believe that through Gods blessing on this ministry we are taking back a cold gloomy place from the enemy and turning it into a place of hope.

Thank you Lord for providing the willing servants and resources we need to bring your love to the people at peppertree. Thank you everyone who had a hand in the outreach and to all the tutors who show up faithfully every week to help resurrect hope to Gods children.

Manny Villa

Abundant Living - Mexico Mission Trip March 2009

This was my second trip through our ministry’s partnership with Pouring Out Hope (POH) after having missed a trip in between. While we go with a clear goal of building homes in mind, so much more is built in a day … and only the Spirit of God could make so much out of 24 hours. On this trip, I was touched to see the growth of the project: so many more volunteers, more homes than before, so many new churches and business groups (Microsoft), the carnival and games, feeding ministry, and ministry to children as well as adults, each bigger and better than in the past.

But what was most poignant for me this March trip were the words of a new friend I made. Her name is Lourdes. She was the recipient of a POH home back in 2003. She told me how much she loves God, and how much she wishes she could read the scriptures for herself. She also told me how saddened she is to make so many new American friends who God has sent to help her community, but most of whom she never sees again. Lourdes told me she’s often wondered what happened to many of them and has always wanted to personally thank one couple in particular that helped to build her family’s home in 2003.

I believe Lourdes’ words are a personal challenge for me to stay engaged, stay connected and stay committed to this community in the hills near Mañaderos. I am led to do my part to return as often as possible, nurture this and other relationships and help bring literacy as well as salvation to our sister community in Mexico.

Lastly, I want to say that what POH does is not a one-way street, with the Americans coming in to save the day. While we do bring hope in the form of homes (and now a school!), we receive much in return. I, for one feel truly blessed for the opportunity. The people of this town are gracious, kind, loving, and optimistic. Their joyful spirit and resilience in the face of very tough circumstances is a sermon unto itself. I thank POH for creating such an amazing opportunity to connect in the name of Jesus with our brothers and sisters in Mexico.

Mexico House-Build # 4 for Lambs Murrieta

Friday Mission Team

This was our fourth house build with Pouring out Hope. From the time that we started a year ago, there has been violence between the government and drug cartels in Mexico. However, each time we go down everything appears peaceful and we see nothing of this struggle. Of course, we have never gone down without being bathed in prayer.

This time the news media has been full of details: kidnappings, beheadings, etc. A week before we were ready to go, 6 of our key people bowed out of the trip due to fear of this crazy behavior. Yet for Jim and I felt no check in our spirits as we prayed. Pastor John confirmed this as well. We felt a peace and a green light to go. When people kept quitting, it did cause us to reexamine God's plans, but again, He said, "GO". God reminded us of Isaiah 58:7, feed the poor, and give shelter to the homeless. He then reminded us that we needed to be ready to die or suffer violence for Him. On the other hand, He showed us that, as He was with Shad, Meshach, and Digo, He is able to protect us and watch over us.

We now had a new prayer for God to send the workers. This time we were in charge of not only our house, but leading the build for Gracepoint Nazarene. If that weren't enough, Lamb's Elsinore was leading the build for RRC church in Rancho Cucamonga and building for the Microsoft team. Four houses and one weekend, hmmm….

For our home we had only 6 signed up for the Friday trip and another 9 for Saturday (not many of them skilled workmen). That's a pretty small group and we didn't know the numbers or skill of the team from Gracepoint. Then a wonderful thing happened. Sunday before our trip was missions Sunday, and our speaker was from China. He spoke about taking a risk for Jesus – getting out of the boat and walking on the water. At the same time, Pastor John encouraged those who could heed the call should pray about going to the Mexico house-build. We ended up with more then we could take! Praise God.

Our drive down on Friday was a long slow process. There was a new process for clearing the houses and we had 4 to pass through inspection. It took nearly 3 hours to get approval to move the houses south compared to the half hour we were accustomed to. We skipped our lunch stop and Home Depot purchases, and went straight to Maneadero. We took a 'short-cut', and one vehicle couldn't pull their trailer up the hill. Another vehicle did the pulling and finally we arrived with our feet jumping out and flying. Everything was unloaded, 4 floors installed, and the outhouse support floor was laid down with car lights coming in handy.

Jesus did a miracle for us with our meals. Eighteen people came along. Amber Sheffield had planned dinner for our team of 9. The other team forgot to plan for dinner and had none. Amazingly, her spaghetti, salad and breadsticks fed the entire 18 with plenty and also fed a few of our neighbors who shared our campfire.

The next morning the Lord again did His 'loaves and fishes' multiplication and a 9 person breakfast extended to feed 18+ people. All were filled and no one went hungry. Jesus used Amber's hands in an incredible way!

Saturday Mission Team

After our yummy breakfast, some of us went to clear out our camp sites and break down the tents, while others started building. Jim Sheffield led a good crew to get Murrieta's house going and they zoomed. Jim Thomas was working on the Gracepoint house with George Ibanez helping. James Trier worked with his on the new school house (Rancho Cucamonga sponsored). Ray had to go to Home Depot for the tanks, outhouses, and a fence order. The Elsinore house had no one working on it so some of the other men and women broke off to get the Microsoft house going. It was a short time later that a huge caravan of cars was seen rumbling, stirring a dust cloud seen for a mile. We now had over 100 people!

The work that followed was rather mind boggling. As I walked around I saw masses of people working at each house. Jay Harvey was able to lead the Elsinore build, so that got going. The little valley rang with the noise of hammers and saws. A Christian carnival drew a milieu of locals to have fun and hear about salvation. Pop ups sprang up in our old tent site, and food stations were formed. At lunch time not only were the 100+ workers fed and about another 100 of the locals had their fill.

When Murrieta finished their house, they jumped in to help complete the others where they could help. By <st1:time hour="17" minute="0">5:00 PM</st1:time> almost of the houses were complete. Presentations were held for the three families. Murrieta presented the keys to Jose Louis, Rosio, and little Julian. Tears of joy flowed freely from their eyes. They were no longer confined to a small trailer and attached shanty, but they had a rain proof roof with a shaded patio cover. Water would be gravity fed into their sink from a raised tank. They had a bounty of rice and beans, blankets and clothes. Two special gifts were given at the end. One, Amber printed up pictures from the build, and put them in a frame for their home. The other was a beautiful Spanish Bible that Claudine had purchased. I know the family that received this house was blessed, but I believe I can speak for those of us who participated in the giving in saying that we were filled with His joy and presence as well. It was pressed down, shaken together, and overflowing Luke 6:38.

The Lord protected us all as we drove home through Mexico. No problems a 50 minute border crossing, and the joyful reunion of our bodies with our own beds. Yes, it was late, but so rewarding. I am glad 28 people from our church, Lamb's Murrieta, chose to step out of their comfortable boats, and walk on the water. It turns out we weren't asked to give anything up except our comfort and time. In return we were given joy and blessings that we never would have received sitting by our TVs at home.

Thank you Lord, for making our lives so much richer by being a part of your perfect plan.

USA Build Microsoft House - milestone complete 3/7/2009 - SHIP IT!

Hola mi peeps,

Thanks to the work you did, the US Prefab has reached RTM. Chris has lots of pics and video, but sent me the 2 teasers attached.

There was a over 40 people, including kids close to 50. Holy Guacamole!

There were Microsoft people I didn't know, and others that brought friends and family along with them. Pouring Out Hope provided us a crew and Lambs Elsinore let us use the facilities. We had a great lunch of Tortilla soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. The trailer was loaded and roll'n to my house by 2:30.

Our foreman was "Jay Harvey" from POH and his wife hosted lunch! I saw a few repeat and 3peat attendees looking like leaders out there including Ken and his friend Mike that showed early and jumped on the framing and others like Ron and Chris. Richard had a trim crew going too for the windows (that's windows not Windows), and there were lots of crews of people organized into small groups hammering, hoisting and shimmying. Ron brought his toolchest which included his arm extenders, board stretcher and also his left handed crescent wrench which all came in handy. Lanie brought Krispy cream.. which reminds me..the ladies, OMGosh – there were as many women as men (as there should be) and they were bust'n a move (outpaced me 2:1 anyway).

So this is a big FAT thank you from your big PHAT host. ;)

I'll send some details soon for the upcoming Mexico trip on 3/28 where we finish this off.

Ad-i-os,

Thanks,

Eric

Mexico Testimony - Nov 08

First of all, I would like thank our friends Dawn and Eric, and the folks from POH, for providing us the opportunity to participate in last Sunday’s mission. It was truly an honor and a privilege to be part of such important event.

Participating in the assistance of this disenfranchised family in Maneadero, Mexico was one of the most heartfelt and eye opening experiences of my life, as well as for my wife, and twin, twelve year-old daughters. Although we have visited Mexico many times in the past, and witnessed many panhandling children on the streets, we never imagined visiting a poor village, where the living conditions seemed to be below poverty level. What we witnessed that day was nothing like we’ve ever seen before. Standing inside one of these dilapidated dirt floor homes, held up by stilts, plywood walls, and tarp roofs, was extremely overwhelming, not to mention the cardboard boxes this family was using for beds. However, seeing the little children’s faces covered with filth, with no shoes on their feet was conceivably the most heart wrenching moment of this experience.

While on this mission, my family and I had a chance to help clean up this family’s home along with many of our friends, giving it a complete makeover, and making it a much more livable environment for their children. We then had a chance to give away some wonderful donations from the ministry, such as clothes, shoes, toys, and food to the rest of the villagers and their children, and greet many families whom I learned to admire for their humbleness, and their amazing strengths to survive under these conditions.

There was one particular young man who I had the opportunity to speak to. His name was Paulino, and a relative of the family that we were helping. He told me that he came from Oaxaca, a southern province in Mexico, and migrated to Ensenada with his family 8 years ago. He works in an agricultural plant where they pack small vegetables, which ironically are exported to the U.S. He told me that he makes 700 pesos a week, which is approximately $54.00 with the current exchange rate, only averaging to about $1.35 per hour. Nonetheless, he was happy he had a job, and able to contribute to the family household.

Upon our return, we had a chance to share many of our stories with our friends and families, and talked about how fortunate we are to live in a nation where the basic living necessities are sometimes taken for granted. I have to say this mission was definitely an opportunity of a lifetime, and one that everyone should experience at least once in their lives. That day, we gave back to the people who truly needed our help, and brought back with us those special moments that filled our hearts and spirits with compassion. For my family, it was a day we will always remember, and one we will always reflect back upon, especially the memorable images of the little children’s faces whose lives we touched.

Orlando

Mexico - Nov 11th 08

From Eric:

Yesterday a small group of us went back to Maneadero Mexico specifically to help a family of children we met during the house build for the Juarez family. There was a 9 year old girl that cared for the baby, a 3 year old and we discovered there is another girl also about 7. This family lives down the road from the Juarez family (aka the Microsoft House).

When we arrived, again the parents were not home they were off working for a couple days. The first thing I noticed was one of the many puppies from before was laying next to the door of the house..dead. There were only about 2 other puppies remaining. They have Mange so bad we don't expect them to live.

What is cool this about this trip is my 11 year old daughter and 13 year old son went. We also brought our friends Samantha and her husband Orlando and their twin 12 year old daughters who have never seen anything like this. The first thing we did was make food for the kids. Our kids sat down with them and ate. See picture attached.

If you recall from other pics, the inside of the house was basically empty except the cardboard on a corner of the floor. Also, they all shared 1 blanket. I did a terrible job of taking pictures and will email my friend shortly for some but can you say "Home Make over"?

So the home makeover began yesterday.

We put 2 twin beds with mattresses, and a mini bed with a crib mattress in there. Also installed some shelves, a clothes hanger and laid down a rubber floor. We gave them stacks of cloths, towels, and blankets. Also some toys, 5 gallon jugs of water, piles of food, shoes, hygiene stuff, etc. Our wives washed the children who were filthy head to toe. We left them with vitamins, brushed out their hair (as much as possible anyway) and tended to some wounds. We brought a 50lbs of dog food as well. The roof leaks and the walls have some holes so we brought tarps and redid the roof for them. By the way, as we pulled out, it started to rain.

I cannot tell you how much of a difference this made in their life. These are small things but for the first time in the life of these 4 kids they will sleep on a bed and have MORE cloths, blankets, etc than they probably even need. The mother figure who is 9 years old…had the hugest smile on her face! We truly wish we could have seen the face of the parents when they get home today or tomorrow.

Couple more things, POH followed their "qualification" process for providing homes (leveraging a relationship with the local pastor). And after interviewing the family over the last month it was determined these kids WILL be getting a house! There are 3 families ahead of this one. So in March POH has to build 4 houses in 1 trip for this family to get house number 4. POH and Lambs Murrieta will do one each and I think Gracepoint is going to do one. These kids get house number 4 which we might be sponsored again by some Microsoft people or otherwise this family will be the first to get it in July. Either way, it is FREAKING GREAT.

Yesterday was an amzing day. Lifes were changed and Christ was glorified!

Read a testimonial from one of the key individuals from Microsoft who partnered with Pouring Out Hope for this mission trip

=================================

Thank you to everyone who gave of their time and/or money to support the recent house build in Mexico. It went very smoothly and the recipient family was extremely grateful. Mrs. Juarez’s remarks at the end of the day were particularly touching. She reflected on her inability to repay the gifts to those that gave them; however, she feels blessed in that now she has the opportunity to help the local villagers in so many ways (teaching job skills, reading literacy, multiple languages, self sufficiency).

We were able to provide this family of four with a two story, 270 sq. ft. house, including a solar panel and LED lighting, water cistern, sink, propane gas grill (and tank), porch awning, outside table, and an outhouse! As well as many smaller, but just as meaningful gifts such as rice & beans, blankets, backpacks filled with crayons & books (yes, in Spanish), pillows, and both the girls’ favorites – a stuffed dog and stuffed bear.

We were all touched by the things that we saw throughout the day, especially a group of 4 children – 3 girls and 1 boy – whose parents were away and would not return for at least another couple days. The oldest girl was 9 years old and she was carrying an infant (her sister) with her all day. They lived in a shoddy shack with a dirt floor and nothing more than a few blankets and two candles, and no apparent food to be seen. We were able to muster up a table for them, made from our scrap lumber, along with several bottles of water. One of the guys on the build left his sleeping bag for them, and we enlisted the local pastor to stop by over the next few days to check in on them until the parents had returned. Very sad.

So many people had a hand in bringing this project to fruition, and I am sure that we would be unable to name each of you. So in the absence of that, THANK YOU!!

Ron Hill
Microsoft

Video Slideshows:
Pre-fabrication of the house in the US
Assembly of the house in Mexico

==================================

Mexico House Build - September 2008

We're so excited about our September house build. This month we fabricated our 15th or 16th house (starting to lose count). In October the house will be transported to Baja Mexico and then put together in less than 8 hours time. The house goes to the Jaurez family. You can watch this video of the scouting trip to Mexico and you can also read the family profile here.

One of the very exciting things that's happening this time is we've been given a great opportunity to partner with volunteers from Microsoft. One of the regular volunteers with POH works at Microsoft and through his sharing generated enough interest that a group of volunteers from the the company pooled their own money together to provide for donations to completely fund the house build and now they're volunteering their time to build the house. What an exciting opportunity for POH and for the these individuals to bless a family.

If you're interested in finding out how to get involved with these activites please email to: pouringouthope@aol.com

Mexico Ministry - June/July 2008

Greeting!

This June and July Pouring Out Hope will be helping provide two new homes for family’s in Mexico. Stop and imagine for a minute if none were willing to go, no one willing to sacrafice their precious time. What would happen to God's Church? What would happen to God's love working in and through his people? What would happen to those in need?

Bless the Lord that you GO!! Bless the Lord that you volunteer! That you are willing to offer yourself.....BLESS THE LORD!!!! Judges 5:2

Toward the end of last year I was going through the drive-thru at a local fast food restaurant when I saw a young lady that I recognized. I remembered having seen her for the first time earlier in the year as she was living in an old make shift tent down by the lake. The area around the tent was covered in insects and trash. And the people she was associated with were doing drugs as was she. I saw her again shortly after that, still living in the tent but this time she was pregnant. It was the look of hopelessness on her face that stuck with me.

But today I thank God as does She! Last year she gave her heart to Jesus and entered into a rehabilitation facility. Now she's employeed and working toward career advancement as a manager at that local restaurant. But the greater achievement beyond that is her effort to become a Mother again. Jesus is soooo powerful and soooo cool!!!

I don't think there is anything more precious to God Almighty then kids. Poor kids, rich kids, happy kids, sad kids, lonely kids, deparate kids, good kids, bad kids, mad kids and even the brats. At Peppertree we have them all! However, after our ministry work in 2007 at the Peppertree Homework House I have a new appreciation for all the Youth Pastors of America. Kids are our future and if there is anything worth our investment its our kids. The Peppertree Homework House is continuing to grow. We're there Monday thru Thursday at 4:30pm and we need volunteer's. Come invest in the future!

In 2007 we build 5 houses in Mexico. 5 houses for 5 families who didn't have one when the year started! 3 of these families came out of the migrant village that we visit and bring supplies to regularly. The first house we built in 2007 was built in memory of my Mother, Esperanza Villa. This house was the 7th house we had build since the ministry began but it was the first house to go to a family who moved out of the migrant village.

In addition, we also propagated the Mexico House building ministry to another church, Gracepoint Nazarene Church in Wildomar. This church really had a family spirit about them, working together and really enjoying the ministry God had called them too. It was exciting to be a part of His work.

Mexico Ministry continues this year with welcoming Lamb's Fellowship Murrieta to the Mexico House Building ministry. They'll be funding a house, building it and making the trek to Mexico to deliver it to a new family.

Again, THANK YOU all for such a wonderful year of ministry. May the Lord God richly bless you in 2008!

John

Mexico Ministry - Nov 07

Another amazing trip to Mexico with another spirit filled group of volunteers! Two houses were built on this trip.

This was the first trip that POH witnessed the POWER OF GOD working through Gracepoint Church of Wildomar who funded the cost of the first house and supplied the volunteers from their own church family to put the structure together. It was awesome to be a part of this team and to see the lives of Martine and his family changed forever.

See Pics from this build here!

For the second home, POH was blessed with an "Abundance" of helping hands through the servants from Abundant Life Church in Rancho Cucamunga. This group was phenomenal! They showed up early and stayed through the end, a lot of work but a small sacrifice for our Lord and what a magnificant impression for the receiving family. Take a look at the pictures.

Pictures here

Gus, pray us out!!!! (you had to be there to understand)

Peppertree Homework House - Nov 07

Post by: James Trier

Interview with John Villa and Ray Orozco:

James: Hi Fellas! Thanks for taking the time to get together today. John and I had a conversation about the Peppertree RV Park Homework House the other day and I felt the Lord telling me to sit down and do a quick interview with you two so you could share some of the excitement and praise reports.

I put together a few questions to ask you and I'm hoping this will give our readers some information about the ministry and give our Lord some glory!

Q: Tell me, what is the Homework House?

John: The Homework House is a tutoring program we offer through POH at the Peppertree RV Park. The actual facility is an RV that has been gutted and converted to a classroom. Additionally we added a covered patio to expand the facility to provide a safe learning environment for students from the RV park to get help with their homework.

Q: How many students attend the Homework House for after school assistance?

John: Well, this school year, we have about 40 students ranging all the way from pre-schoolers to High Schoolers. And for our Fall session we're running an incentive program that encourages students to regularly attend the after school sessions to seek assistance with academics. At the end of the program (Nov 10th) we'll be rewarding 25 of the students by taking them to the Wild Animal Park in SD with passes that were donated to Pouring Out Hope.

James: That sounds like an enriching opportunity for these students and probably most of them may have never been there.

Q: How many days a week is POH ministering to these students through the Homework House?

Ray: Right now the Homework House is open on Monday's and Wednesday's but let me tell you, these students are waiting at the door of the facility when we arrive @ 4:30pm. Another exciting growth in this ministry is that Generations Church from Menifee will be facilitating Wednesday Nights tutoring program so that is allowing POH to add another day, Thursday, to the calendar. So we'll be looking for more volunteer's to help as we expand out to Thursday.

Q: Can one of you share your favorite memory or experience from the Homework House?

Ray: When we first started there was this one student (he still attends today) who would come everyday we were there but didn't want to do any homework or study material. It was funny because I'd sit down with him everytime and talk and try to encourage him by giving him words to spell verbally or asking him to spell words on paper. There were a few other instructors that would do the same. The student finally decided to participate and is now very involved with seeking and getting assistance with their homework. But as this was taking place over the course of several weeks I kept asking myself why this student kept coming, then I realized, this facility was something like they've never had before. A safe-haven to come and be encouraged and loved unconditionally, like kids should be.

James: Wow! Praise God!

Q: So tell me, what are some of the greatest needs for these students?

John: Well obviously some of them have the material needs such as paper, pens, school clothes/shoes, and we have summer programs that help them earn those items. But more than that these students need what Ray was talking about, the unconditional love, the encouragement, mentoring, spiritual influence. We (POH and its volunteers) believe we're ministering HOPE to students who by the world's standards have no hope.

James: I can feel the passion and heart you both have for this ministry. One last question before we close.

Q: How can someone get involved with this ministry?

John: Well I'm convinced that there is nothing more valuable to the Lord Jesus Christ than the heart of a volunteer and, well, I love them too! (laughs) But seriously, this ministry is growing and every week more students come seeking assistance. As Ray mentioned we're starting another night of ministry on Thursday nights so we're seeking volunteers to come out on those nights to help. But just as important we need individuals who are willing to contribute monetary support for the program to help pay for rent on the facility we use to minister through.

James: What an exciting ministry that's encouraging and bringing hope to the lives of these young students. Praise God for you two and all the volunteer's and contributors!

If your interested in getting involved with this Ministry you can contact Ray Orozco @ 951.334.1138 or John Villa @ 909.518.9093

Pouring Out Love - Nov 07

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_O-mkzS3OJ_0/RxQ2YUt43sI/AAAAAAAADv4/PWjV7wfy3Tw/s200/Familia_Dos.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5121778467733036738" />
The next 4 weeks are going to be an incredible time to join The Mighty Lord in ministry. He's working through Pouring Out Hope, Lamb's Fellowship LE and Gracepoint Church to touch the lives of 2 families in Mexico.

The last trip was so awesome. We went to Mexico to build a home for Jose, his wife and son. During the build Jose picked up a hammer and nails and helped us build his house but he also helped us build a second house for his neighbors. It was truly magnificent. The love that God had started in us to pour out on Jose and his family funneled right through him onto his neighbor. Truly an amazing man, Jose. Truly an unstoppable God.

This trip 2 new families will be getting homes and we need volunteers to partner with us and the Lord to build up the ruins and restore the places long devastated, Isaiah 61:4. This scripture is referring to the broken hearts, the hopelessness and generational depression of these families. With the Lord we will mend the hearts of these fathers and mothers. With the Lord we will be his shining light that brings hope to a future with Him. With the Lord these families will testify to the hope and joy for generations.

Join us November 3rd - Mexico.

God can use you to change a life in 6 hours

Yes, its true. All that our Lord requires are willing hearts and willing hands. On July 28th Pouring Out Hope continues the ministry that God has called them to and will taking a group of missionaries (THAT's YOU!!) to Mexico to build two more loft houses.

With these two homes God will continue to change the course of future generations in the lives of a family. During the last trip in March we built a house for the first of two brothers. This trip we will build a house for the second brother and then the father of these two men. God's mighty hand is moving and we're joining Him in his work.

To join in the adventure with God contact Pastor Ray!

POH UPDATE!!

Hey Guy's,

We are getting ready for our Valentine Outreach at Peppertree February 10th at 12:00noon. As many of you know, my Beautiful, Wonderful, Precious, Powerful Praying Mother has passed away to be with her LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST. Thank you all for your prayers and support during this difficult but Glorious time. Thank you Ray and all of you who have carried this ministry during my absence. I am so grateful to God for bringing servants like you. Burrito's from the Jack Shack and coffee from Etheopia! (were we camping!)

Watching Tito pound nails in his future home!
